Brazilian Bikini Wax

If you ask many women what their least favorite part about wearing a bikini is, most will say the Brazilian bikini wax.   While the results may look great, beauty always has a price, and in this case that price is a little bit of pain.

When you go in for your first waxing, have some courtesy for the technician and make sure you’re nice and clean “down there”.  Jogging 30 minutes to your waxing in the name of multitasking isn’t the best thing to do.  Also, don’t make the mistake of thinking that removing most of the unwanted pubic hair yourself will be doing the technician a favor.  Your hair needs to be at least 1/4″ long (if it’s fine hair), and 1/2″ long (if it’s coarse).  The wax needs something to grab onto, so if you shave it yourself, you’ll have to wait much longer while the hair grows to a point where a technician’s wax can grab onto it.

The technician will ask you to strip below the waist and probably sit in a variety of positions during the course of the session.  This is so that they can get the wax into all the nooks and crannys where it needs to be.  They will then apply a pad, usually made of cotton, while the wax is still warm.  After the wax has firmed up and bonded to both the hair and the pad, the technician will rip it off in one swift and hopefully only relatively painful motion.

You might ask yourself why any woman would subject herself to this kind of torture.  The answer is in the results.  The effects of shaving last a day or two at the most.  The effects of one of these waxings can last 3 to 6 weeks. Imagine having just one waxing and looking great for half the summer, and never having to shave to maintain the look.  Plus, after your first waxing,  it’s often easier the second and third times, and many women report that hair grows back finer or not at all on waxed areas.
